An exceptionally elegant and seductive Champagne from 2015, made from 50% Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs and 50% Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims. The nose reveals candied lemon, honey, toasted bread and orange. On the palate, the Champagne is creamy and elegant, with an exceptionally fine mousse. A wonderful match for refined fish and seafood dishes, as well as elegant, lighter meat dishes.
Champagne is usually made from wines from several different vintages. In an exceptional year, however, a Champagne house may choose to use only wine from that particular harvest. This is known as a millésimé, or vintage Champagne. Laurent-Perrier is highly selective when it comes to producing vintage Champagnes, and only truly outstanding years are considered.
The 2015 growing season was unpredictable. After a mild but wet winter, spring alternated between warm and very cold periods, followed by a hot and stormy summer. Thanks to a calm and mild September, the grapes were ultimately able to ripen slowly and beautifully. All these factors combined to make 2015 an exceptional year for Champagne.
