This sparkling wine from Northern Italy is one of the signature expressions of Franciacorta. Made predominantly from Chardonnay, complemented by Pinot Nero and a touch of Pinot Bianco, it is defined by elegance and balance. Alma — Latin for “soul” — is the result of a meticulous selection of grapes from sixty carefully chosen vineyards in the rolling hills of Lombardy.
Franciacorta is still relatively uncommon in the Netherlands, despite its exceptional quality and its ability to rival a fine Champagne. Perhaps that is because the Italians prefer to keep it for themselves. Bellavista’s Assemblage 2 is made from Chardonnay with small amounts of Pinot Nero and Pinot Bianco. In total, 91 individual selections are brought together to create the final blend, which then matures for at least thirty months in the cellars.
Bellavista Franciacorta is fresh and complex, with notes of citrus, Mediterranean flowers and brioche.
